RAJKOT: Four persons including the husband of the 45-year-old woman who had hanged herself to death, were booked for abetment of suicide by the Wankaner police in Morbi district on Monday night.
The complaint was filed after the deceased woman Neetaben Rajvir's brother produced her suicide note to the police. The woman had sent the suicide note to her brother Mukesh Ganatra in Surat by courier before she hanged herself at her residence in Wankaner on Sunday morning.
Police have booked Neetaben's husband Rajesh Rajvir, brother-in-law Rasik Rajvir, sister-in-law Jasmina Rajvir and niece Pooja Rajvir for abetment of suicide. Rajesh Rajvir owns Rajvir Transports in Wankaner town. She had married Rajesh 25 years ago and had two sons with him.
Before taking the extreme step Neetaben had posted the suicide note to her brother in Surat on May 14. The courier reached him on Sunday (May 17). But before her brother could come to her rescue, she had committed suicide.
In her six-page suicide note, Neetaben has accused her husband and in-laws of physical and mental torture.
"I want to live more and see my daughter-in-law but these people (in-laws) have forced me to end my life," read Neetaben's suicide note. "Brother, (Mukeshbhai), do not come to my in-laws' home after my death to perform any rituals as I am fed up of the harassment by my in-laws. They beat me and I can't live anymore," she wrote in the suicide note.
She also urged her brother to fight for justice and ensure that her husband and in-laws are behind bars.
On Sunday afternoon, Rajesh, came home and saw his wife hanging and informed police.
