Shanghai IAPM the nation's only mall to win double golds at 2015 ICSC China Shopping Center Awards

Shanghai IAPM by Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) garnered gold prizes in New Developments and Emerging Technology categories at the prestigious 2015 ICSC China Shopping Center Awards. The Asia-Pacific landmark that houses many top international brands was the only mainland shopping mall to win two golds, showing solid industry recognition and encouragement.

Projects across the nation competed in this year's China Shopping Center Awards. IAPM on Middle Huaihai Road in the traditional Puxi shopping district stood out for architecture that incorporates nature and an environmentally-friendly design, building sustainable connections with the local community. An international tenant mix coupled with different creative promotions attracts the trendies in search of a quality lifestyle, which resonates with its world-class design and sustainable creativity. The mall jumped on the new media bandwagon with an artistic dimension to offer a unique and free-style experience, including a special device that allows customers to take personalized selfies for posting to social networks. The novelty helped open up new aspects of Shanghai tourism and retail development, earning praise from the international award judges and the audience at the award ceremony.

Sun Hung Kai Development (China) Director Maureen Fung said: "SHKP develops quality Hong Kong and mainland projects with its Building Homes with Heart belief. IAPM is all about style and late-night shopping so it gravitates towards the high end and the architecture offers day and night views as part of the distinctive character. SHKP took its Hong Kong APM model to Shanghai and made IAPM the place where trend setters go for leisure, entertainment and socializing. The mall offers a broad range of well-known international brands, garnering praise from local customers, and the extensive use of new media technology gives rise to creative ideas that depart from traditional ways of operating a commercial development. These innovations provide a novel shopping experience for the iGeneration and make IAPM a bright star in the mainland market."

The two golds give IAPM automatic entrance to the highest ICSC VIVA Best-of-the-Best Awards, which honours the most inspiring developments and best creative marketing in shopping centres around the world. The awards will be presented at the annual RECon-ICSC world expo in Las Vegas.

The 120,000-square-metre-plus IAPM is a part of SHKP's Shanghai ICC complex on Middle Huaihai Road; the most vibrant commercial sector in Puxi. The mall has six floors above ground and two basement levels housing 238 upscale, trendy international brands, ten percent of which are new on the mainland and 15 percent new to Shanghai. Tenants include an IMAX cinema that offers an impressive multi-sensory experience, a city'super lifestyle supermarket and international gourmet restaurants to give discerning customers a diverse new kind of shopping experience. Shops along the mall's Middle Huaihai Road frontage span over 220 metres and include duplex stores for top international brands in all their grandeur, encompassing the largest mainland flagships for Prada and Gucci, alongside flagships for Miu Miu, Tod's, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Versace and Hugo Boss. IAPM is also a magnet for chic new retailers and a preferred destination for people seeking a trendy lifestyle.

The IAPM atrium has an ultra-modern design with distinctive lights glittering under a transparent canopy like the vast galaxy. The gourmet zone incorporates elements of nature like a wavelike ceiling and lights that resemble trees to create a spectacular starry scene following the day / night IAPM shopping concept in a relaxing environment.
