Finding drains clogged with garbage during his inspection on Tuesday, GVMC Commissioner Pravin Kumar cautioned employees of the sanitary wing against laxity and said if things did not improve he would be forced to transfer them.

The Commissioner went around Thatichetlapalem, Vishwateja Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Railway New Colony, Ramalayam Veedhi, Masid Junction, Hargopal School Road, Saibaba temple, Chekkudurayi Building Road and found most of the drains clogged.

Zonal Commissioner Ch. Naga Narasimha Rao said that they had used an earthmover to clear the drains only last week. He said that garbage flowed in from other zones. Residents too were throwing garbage in the drains, he said.

The Commissioner interacted with residents and impressed upon them the importance of proper disposal of garbage.
