On the day of All India NR Congress(AINRC) Government entering fifth year, party president and Chief Minister on Saturday exuded optimism of his party returning to power in the next Assembly elections.

After interacting with party men, Mr. Rangasamy told The Hindu that he was satisfied over the performance of his government in the last four years.

“We brought several schemes and created several job opportunities. Certainly, people will vote us to power.”

“During my tenures as Chief Minister, I have aimed to make a change in Puducherry. That could be why people have voted us to power.”

Asked to explain next goal of his party, Mr. Rangasamy said, “That our governance will continue to blossom is our wish and goal. To achieve the goal, we brought several schemes and have fast-tracked their implementation. ”

According to the Chief Minister, the government had asked Union government for inclusion of Puducherry in smart city project and subsequently had entered into agreement with French Government for establishing smart city. The Government has been taking consistent efforts to set up an airport in Karaikal and the Union government had recently announced that airport.

Earlier, Speaker V. Sabapathy, AINRC ministers, MLAs and chairmen of public sector units greeted the Chief Minister. Mr. Rangasamy also offered special prayers at temple of Appa Paithiyam Swamy.

In the evening, the Chief Minister and others participated at special prayers held at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple.
