A student of Government PU College at Venkataiahana Chatra, a village in Chamarajanagar taluk, committed suicide by jumping into the Chikkahole reservoir on Monday. Failure to clear the second PU examinations, the results of which were announced on Monday, is said to be the reason for the student, identified as Manu (18), son of Shantharaju and Rathnamma, taking the extreme step. Mr. Manu had failed to clear the Mathematics subject in II PU examination, according to his parents. The police have registered a case.
