Wanted man nabbed with 2.5 kg of ganja

Following information that a drug-peddler was selling ganja at the Shakthikulangara-Neendakara twin fishing harbours every day, a team from the Chavara police arrested the peddler on Tuesday morning from Neendakara.

The suspect was identified by the police as Chandrashekaran alias Idukki Shekaran, 38, residing at Mynagapally. The police said that at the time of his arrest, Shekaran was carrying 2.5 kg of ganja. It was after the arrest that the police learnt that Shekaran was wanted under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA) since March this year.

He is also wanted in 20 cases of drug-peddling and abkari offences.
