Ramagundam records 44 degree; mercury to go up further
KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar district is registering scorching heatwave conditions for the past few days. As a result, people are being forced to confine to their houses. In particular, elderly people are unable to withstand the blistering heatwave conditions. Ramagundam recorded 440C on Tuesday. Three persons died of sunstroke from April to till date.
According state pollution control board’s centre in Ramagun-dam, the district saw a 440C temperature on Tuesday. Karimnagar recorded over 400C in the past five days.
Meteorological officials predict that the temperatures are likely to go up further in the days to come.
The district has been boiling due to this sweltering hot weather. Consequently, people from all walks of life are facing many problems. Especially, daily-wage labourers and road side venders are bearing brunt of heatwave conditions. They are unable to earn to meet the ends as they are not venturing outside.
Similarly, public who reside in tin-roofed residences are undergoing tough times following raising temperatures. “We neither stay inside of our home, nor go out as the tins are getting heated due to increase in mercury. We don’t know how to protect ourselves from this heat wave conditions,” rued Challa Yellaiah, a resident of Kishan-nagar in the city.
