GHAZIABAD: The 26-year-old man, who had been arrested by the Ghaziabad Police for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old student of Delhi University was sent to judicial custody by a local court on Tuesday. The accused, Lalit, had allegedly assaulted and raped the woman near her house in the Razapur area on Monday.
Cops said on Tuesday that medical examination of the woman has confirmed rape.
Lalit's accomplice, Sachin, is on the run. The crime branch of Ghaziabad police conducted raids at several possible hideouts to arrest Sachin.
"The medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape. We have marked out a few other places where Sachin could be hiding. Cops are zeroing in on him. He will be arrested soon.
