Sanchit, a resident of Sector 20, Panchklula, stood second in the Punjab Pre-Medical Test — 2015. Son of Tajinder Kumar, a government officer with CPWD in Chandigarh, Sanchit brought laurels to the city by scoring 624 marks.

A student of Bal Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, Chandigarh, Sanchit drew inspiration from his elder sister, a doctor at Patiala government hospital.

Kavita, the proud mother, said Sanchit studied for seven to eight hours daily.  Apart from studying at school he also took pre-entrance coaching from a city-based private institute.

A beaming Sachin said, “Reading books and playing football are my stress-busters.” He gave the credit of his success to his parents, teachers and tutors.
