Shelter Island & Sag Harbor

A 19th-century Methodist retreat has been brought back to life as the 37-room Chequit (from $195; thechequit.com). The contemporary B&B is from designer-hotelier couple Kevin O’Shea, an alum of Starwood’s aesthetic team, and David Bowd, a former bigwig in Ian Schrager and André Balazs’ hotel empires.

Nearby at Sunset Beach (from $305; sunsetbeachli.com), Balazs will launch a Friday-night acoustic music series this season.

In Sag Harbor, the 67 nautical-chic rooms of Baron’s Cove (from $223; baronscove.com) emerge after a two-year renovation of another historic property.

Southampton & East Hampton

In Southampton, Capri (from $355; caprisouthampton.com), recently purchased by Hollywood lawyer Mark Geragos and completely revamped, will boast a new branch of the Manhattan celeb hangout Beautique.

A shop from Los Angeles’ Scandinavian-design incubator Austere, whose products, all for sale, can be found throughout the hotel, arrives at c/o The Maidstone (from $650; themaidstone.com), in East Hampton.

Quogue

The Quogue Club at Hallock House (from $425; quogueclub.com), a landmarked property that was bought by a consortium of concerned locals and overhauled by designer Alexa Hampton in 2014, now offers guests tee-time privileges at the otherwise-private Laurel Links Country Club.

A refresh of Amagansett’s Inn at Windmill Lane (from $935; innatwindmilllane.com) means Bose speakers, iPads, Molton Brown bath products and other comforting treats in its seven suites and three gated cottages.

The new GM here, from Watch Hill, RI’s luxe Ocean House, will oversee a wealth of gratis amenities like bikes from Bowery Lane Bicycles and SUV shuttles to the beach, where chairs, umbrellas and custom picnic lunches await.

Montauk

The tip of the South Fork is also undergoing a major hotel boom: The 109-room oceanfront Gurney’s (from $360; gurneysmontauk.com) continues its overhaul, welcoming five new food-and-drink venues — including a satellite of the Meatpacking District’s Italian haute spot Scarpetta— plus a new lobby that gives long views through to the water. The property is also introducing an updated spa and a new general manager who hails from the Four Seasons Hotel Houston.

Remaking a once-down-and-out motel as a chic stay that’s attracted the likes of the Gipsy Kings, the team at the nearby 27-room Haven Montauk (from $250; havenmontauk.com) wraps up a rolling, multiyear redo, adding a boutique that offers a mix of indie beach apparel and accessories, plus workshops on tie-dyeing and gardening with succulents.

The summer campstyle Ruschmeyer’s (from$345; chelseahotels.com), for its part, brings in chef brothers Eli and Max Sussman, recently known for their experiments with Middle Eastern cuisine, to collaborate on this season’s meals with the returning food gurus from Noho’s the Smile.

The Montauk Yacht Club (from $249; montaukyachtclub.com) has a redone bar/lounge and al fresco patio, and the just-arrived, Caribbean-born star chef Ron Duprat, a former contestant on Bravo’s “Top Chef.”

Finally, the new management crew at the The Surf Lodge (from $295; thesurflodge.com) — led by Sasha Benz, founder of the cult-followed Web site All My Friends Are Models — has arranged a season full of surprises, including a health-and-fitness collaboration with Well+Good, uniforms by Aussie designers Zimmermann, Surf Lodgebranded fashions, breakfasts by local favorite Joni’s Kitchen, and a new restaurant featuring farm-to-table ingredients from Bhumi Farms, an exclusive provider of the hotel’s organic produce. Monday movie nights and trivia on Tuesdays too.
