What does Tom Brady have in common with 50 Cent, Rex Ryan and Britney Spears?

The New England Patriots quarterback has joined the rapper, Buffalo Bills coach and singer as one of the least appealing celebrities in America, according to the Celebrity DBI, an independent index that qualifies and quantifies consumer perception of almost 3,700 celebrities.

Clearly, the Deflategate report and subsequent four-game suspension contributed to Brady’s dreadful figures from the survey completed Friday. In a Feb. 5 survey, Brady was hovering more respectably among the bottom 20% of celebrities in the appeal category.

That figure dropped to the bottom 3% in the survey completed Friday, according to The Marketing Arm, an agency in Dallas that said the figures are based on a survey of 1,000 Americans queried about 3,686 celebrities.

There was more bad news for Brady, who now finds himself alongside conservative talk show host Bill O’Reilly. Both are among the bottom 18% least trusted celebrities. In the Feb. 5 survey, Brady was among the 27% most trusted celebrities.

“The general public has some concern over trusting Brady and that’s obvious in his drop across the board, especially in likeability,’’ Matt Fleming, executive account director at The Marketing Arm, said. “A drop was expected, but this is a big-time drop.

“Don’t expect it to affect his endorsements, though, unless something major is dropped. If he’s caught directly lying or something incriminating then he may take a hit and lose endorsements. But at this point, don’t expect them to walk away from Brady.”
