Watford Ladies assistant manager Lauren Davey says they are a better side than their current league position suggests.
The Lady Hornets are ninth in Women's Super League Two, with just four points from seven games, having lost to leaders Millwall Lionesses on Sunday.
"There have been ups and downs. There are definitely positives and the girls' spirits are still high
"But we know that we're better than what our league position shows," Davey told BBC Sport.
"It's not been a fantastic start to the season but there is a long way to go."
Watford picked up their first league win of the season, away at Aston Villa, on 10 May.
"We're definitely getting there. It's slowly happening," said midfielder Stacie Donnelly, 21.
"It takes a long time to gel together and get used to this new formation that we have been playing. We're getting there slowly."
Watford host third-placed Yeovil at Berkhamsted FC on Sunday.
