30th rank for Bidar

Students from Bidar have performed better in PUC examinations after the recent SSLC results. Bidar has escaped the last slot among the districts ranked according to performance in PUC results this year. It stands 30th in the list of 31 districts, with a pass percentage of 54.4 per cent. Last year, its position was 31st, with only 44.95 per cent students passing.

The marginal improvement is due to steps like remedial coaching, teacher training and regular examination practice, S.D. Kamble, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education said.

The Morarji Desai Residential Pre-University College in Bidar, the only government-run residential college, achieved 96.87 per cent results.

Of the 32 students who appeared for the exam, 21 passed with first class and four with second class. Gnyana Sudha PU College for Sciences, Bidar, also did well. It achieved 99 per cent results with eight distinctions and 46 first classes. Sudhakar Reddy and Sudha Mani scored 100/100 in Mathematics and Asha Baburao scored 100/100 in Kannada. Guru Nanak Dev Pre-University College also achieved good results with 99 per cent results. Of the 296 students, 19 students passed with distinction and 161 passed with first class. Sri Channabasaveshwar Gurukul of Kardyal achieved 93.73 per cent results.

Out of 559 students, 84 students have got distinction and 400 students passed with first class. Nagraj Dattatry Manthale topped with 559 marks (93.17%). Sharanabasava V. Patil got 100 marks in Mathematics.

Sri Siddhi Vinayak PU College students have done well in PUC examinations with 93 per cent of them passing. As many as 14 got distinctions and 140 of them passed with first class.

Saraswati PU College got 90 per cent results with two distinctions and 18 first classes. Wisdom PU College achieved 83.37 per cent results with five distinctions and 43 first classes.
