Demonstration in Adilabad

The Telangana Municipal Workers and Employees Union (TMWEU) affiliated to the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Monday staged a protest at the Collectorate gate here demanding regularising and enhancement of pay. According to A. Swamy, TMWEU district general secretary contract workers discharging duties in sanitation, water supply, electrical, computer sections and offices were receiving low wages. The government should give them wages by incorporating 44 per cent increase as per the latest pay revision for State government employees, he said . Town honorary president M. Bhaskar and general secretary Abdul Rauf also participated.
