Police and soldiers of Yala Task Force 16 removed anti-government cloth banners put up at five spots in Bannang Sata district of Yala province on Tuesday morning.
The banners, each with a message attacking government authorities, were reported by villagers at five places - one each at Rano, Thamnop, Yilapan, Ngotapo and Charepi Saekhla villages in tambon Talingchan of Bannang Sata district.
An object suspected of being a bomb was placed under each of the five banners.
Bannang Sata police and soldiers of Yala Task Force 16 removed all the banners. The suspicious objects left at four spots were found to be fake bombs. The one at Chare Saekhla village was a real bomb that went off but inflicted no casualties.
