Sudeep to launch two movies together
Actor Sudeep has announced that he will be working on two films simultaneously. The launch of his Kannada-Tamil bilingual Kotigobba-2 (as yet untitled in Tamil) was scheduled for June 12 in Bengaluru. This film is produced by Soorappa Babu who has been waiting to launch the film for the last two years. On Satruday, however, Sudeep surprised everyone by announcing that along with this film, one more film for producer Raghunath will be hitting the floors simultaneously.Raghunath is incidentally producing two films for Sudeep. One is by director Prakash named Leader and another named Hebbuli to be directed by S Krishna of Gajakesari fame.
But which of these two films will be launched along with Kotigobba-2 is not clear.
Sources said both Prakash and Krishna are ready with the script and ready to launch the film at the shortest notice. Both of them are hopeful that it is their film that will be launched. Meanwhile, the launch of Kotigobba-2 on June 12 is confirmed. Producer Soo rappa Babu said the plan is to shoot the film in one schedule, but the final call will be taken by Sudeep. “We have to shoot the film in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and a foreign location. The film is being made simultaneously in Kannada and Tamil,“ he said. The film will be directed by veteran Tamil director KS Ravikumar who recently directed Lingaa with Rajinikanth.
Meanwhile, Ranna, delayed for almost two months now, will be watched by the Censor board either on Monday evening or Tuesday, says director Nanda Kishora. The delay of this film resulted in the delay of the launch of other films including Kotigobba-2. Ranna is likely to be released on May 29, sources said. The film will mark the return of Gokul Films to Kannada film distribution.
After Ranna, Sudeep will be seen on screen in a small role in the Telugu film Bahubali and as the antagonist in the Tamil film Puli starring Vijay. So by the time his film in the lead role is ready in Tamil, he would have been introduced there already.
