KARACHI: Team Deuces accumulated 73.61 victory points (VPs) to annex the Karachi Bridge Association’s weekend Bridge Tournament here at the Aslam Bridge Hall on Sunday evening.

Deuces comprising Abdul Muqeet, Wajahat Suri, Ziaullah Baig and Hussain Jaffer overcame Team Masood by a close margin.

At times it looked Masood’s team will take the title after winning all five matches of the round robin. But in the end they fell short by a whisker.

Deuces started the run with a deficit score against Masood, 8.15, but in other four matches, Deuces outpaced Trailblazer 14.28, Foxy 16.38, GFQ 18.00 and Four Stars 14.28.

In the pair event, retired Maj Saadat and Afzal Shaikh registered an convenient victory.

Right from the half way mark, this pair reached the top, never to be challenged at any stage. They scored 62.71% to win the title.

National bridge star Fatima Reza pairing with Pervaiz Mirza finished second with a score of 59.81 per cent followed by Anisur Rehman and Anwer Kizilbash (58.54).
