“If a student pays attention to what is being taught in class, and prepares well at home, I think he/she can score well in the examinations. Also, one should not neglect any subject, and give equal importance to all,” said Vivek.

Closely following him was Deep Inder Mohan, who scored 97.4 per cent, with maximum marks in computer science and mathematics.
“I have already opted for the non-medical group in class XI and aim to get admission in an IIT, and become a computer engineer,” said Deep Inder, who also participated in inter-school debate competitions.

Festive offer

Son of Dr H R Verma, a retired physics professor, and Baljit Kaur, a biology teacher, Deep Inder finds his inspiration in his elder brother Nitinder Mohan, who recently completed his masters in computer science and plans to pursue research at IIT, Delhi.

He said students should not get excessively worried ahead of the board examinations and consider it like any other examination in order to do well.

Lakshya Mittal, with 96.8 per cent marks, is the fourth topper from the school. He scored a perfect 100 in computer science. His suggestion to students who want to do well in exams: “Stay away from social media before the examinations.’’ Like the three others, he also believes in self-study, not private tuitions.
