Three Naxalites arrested in E Champaran

The East Champaran police arrested three Maoists allegedly having links with Maoists in Nepal on Sunday from three different places under Chhoradano and Lakhaura police stations areas near Indo-Nepal border.

MOTIHARI: The East Champaran police arrested three Maoists allegedly having links with Maoists in Nepal on Sunday from three different places under Chhoradano and Lakhaura police stations areas near Indo-Nepal border.
Police also recovered two pistols and cartridges, details of levy collection and Maoists literatures from their possessions. They are being quizzed by police as they are suspected to be arms suppliers to the Maoists in Bihar.

ASP Rajiv Kumar said the police arrested Matar Sahani, Chandradeo Sahani and Munchun Sah, all residents of Malahi village under Chhoradano police station area. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted raid at Majirawa village and arrested these extremists but the group leader Sheopujan Rai and Manjan Sah managed to escape. This group of Maoists commits dacoity and extorts money from brick kiln and petrol pump owners, contractors and businessmen in bordering areas up to Rs2 crore annually. The arrested Maoists have confessed that they had committed dacoity at the house of grandson of Srikrishna Sinha, the first CM of Bihar, at Chhoradano.
Police have evidence that Matar Sahani has strong link with Nepalese Maoists and he has base in Nepal. According to police, the members of this gang are accused in murder of Ram Narayan Thakur and Rambabu Rai at village Sripur under Chhoradano.
