JAMNAGAR: In a gruesome incident, a 53-year-old man was arrested in Dev-bhoomi Dwarka district for allegedly raping his minor daughter. The police said that the man had repeatedly raped the 14-year-old girl over a period of one-and-a-half year.
A complaint was filed by the survivor's mother at Dwarka town police station on Sunday night against her husband Laxman Vadher, a resident of TV Station area of the coastal town.

"We have arrested Laxman Vadher Sunday night. He was produced before the local court on Monday and sent to jail," Sameer Sarda, police inspector of Dwarka, told TOI.
Police said that the incident came to light two days ago when the survivor's mother caught her husband raping her minor daughter. "The accused had threatened his daughter and wife that if they tell anyone about the incident, he would kill them. However, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint," Sarda said.
Survivor's mother also handed over the survivor's clothes to the police to help in investigation. The minor girl was sent to the civil hospital in Jamnagar for medical examination. Vadher is a mason by profession but was unemployed since the last few months. The couple has five children including two daughters, police said.
Sarda said that the survivor had participated in police's Suraksha Setu programme in her school.
