NEW DELHI: Online restaurant listing startup Zomato has leased 1.2 lakh sq ft of office space in the One Horizon Center, one of the most expensive buildings in Gurgaon. Zomato plans to move its headquarters to the One Horizon Center on the Golf Course Road from Gurgaon’s Sector 44. The rental in the building is around Rs 135 per sq ft per month. At this rate, Zomato will pay close to Rs 1.6 crore a month as rental.
Deepinder Goyal, founder and chief executive officer of Zomato, confirmed that the company has leased the space but did not disclose the rental they will be paying, saying the rental is not Rs 135 per sq ft.

"In this space, we are planning to accommodate about 750 people that we are going to hire. We wanted that much space and couldn’t find any for a while. We only had three or four options and this is the best option," said Goyal. A mail to Hines, the co-owner of the building with DLF, did not elicit any response till the time of going to press.

Founded in 2008 by Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah, Zomato offers services in 22 nations across Southeast Asia, South Africa and Europe. The company had raised over $163 million (about Rs 1,010 crore) through multiple funding rounds from investors such as Sequoia Capital, Info Edge and Vy Capital.

"The market has seen considerable leasing activity in the past few months as pent up corporate demand for space has improved," said Anckur Srivasttava, chairman of GenReal Property Advisers.
