‘ICSE board approaches perfection in teaching’
By Nisha Saraf, director of CDS school
I have had the experience of managing schools for three different boards. I had a Karnataka state board school in Bellary, then in 1980s I managed Bhavan’s (Civil Lines) of CBSE, and then finally an ICSE school in 2001. Without the slightest hesitation, I can say that the CISCE board, more popularly known by its std X certificate exam ICSE, is the best for various reasons.
The curriculum is very exhaustive and is completely knowledge based. If you want an education, then ICSE is the board for you. The board also sends us five of our students papers corrected in the minutest details. They analyse every question, mark it and suggest how the answer could have been better. Of course, they charge us for it but that’s worth every penny. I get this done every year as it helps us improve the quality of education.
Everything is near perfection. You won’t find mistakes in text books, circulars and even in question papers. Their professionalism is beyond belief. Everything is above board and rules are to be followed strictly. The board enforces its laws without prejudice and that gives schools the impetus to follow it more stringently. And ultimately all these rules make for a better environment of education. Like it is compulsory to have three different laboratories for std XI and XII, with specific instruments and chemicals etc. So this attention to detail ensures that the children always get high quality education. And never ever have I encountered any malpractice in the board, which gives us confidence. Overall, I would definitely recommend that students choose the ICSE board for a different approach to learning.
