[Via Satellite 05-18-2015] The French Space Agency CNES has signed its first bilateral space accord with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) for greater collaboration on space technology between the two nations. The letter of intent identified three areas of possible cooperation with EDB’s Office for Space Technology and Industry (OSTIn). The first is responsive telemetry, tracking and command components for small satellites; second is electronic components; and third is Earth observation through direct reception of imagery from Singapore’s future TeLEOS 1 satellite in French Guiana.

CNES and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have been working together since 2013 on radiation effects induced by lasers on microelectronic components under the French-Singaporean Merlion program. The new agreement could further this collaboration as well.
