Rohtak, May 18

Sonepat sisters Pooja and Aarti, who had alleged molestation on board a moving bus in November last, have urged the police authorities to transfer their case to the State Crime Branch.

Pooja and Aarti, along with their father Rajesh Kumar, met Rohtak Range IGP Shrikant Jadhav here today and expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the matter was being handled by the local police .

They maintained that nearly six months had passed since they submitted their complaint of molestation but the police was yet to present the challan in the court. They further stated that there was much social pressure on them and even local police officials were advising them to withdraw their case.

The sisters also informed the IGP of morphed obscene pictures being circulated through WhatsApp in their names. They demanded that their entire case be investigated by an independent agency.

They said the IGP assured them that he would recommend their case for investigation by the State Crime Branch. Following this, they dropped their plan to stage a dharna in front of the IGP’s office.
