Two youths robbed in Karvenagar

Four unidentified men robbed an 18-year-old youth and his friend of their cellphone, gold chain and a motorcycle collectively worth Rs 56,500 late on Sunday night in Karvenagar.

PUNE: Four unidentified men robbed an 18-year-old youth and his friend of their cellphone, gold chain and a motorcycle collectively worth Rs 56,500 late on Sunday night in Karvenagar.
A complaint in this regard has been lodged by Kanak Damle (18) of Warje with the Warje Malwadi police station. The police said Damle and his friend Akshay Mahade (21) were riding towards Warje on a motorcycle.
When they reached Karvenagar, four men riding on two motorcycles blocked their way. The suspects assaulted Damle and Mahade.
“They snatched Damle’s cellphone and gold chain. The suspects then forced Damle and Mahade to get down from their motorcycle. Their accomplices took the motorcycle and fled the spot,” said a police officer from the Warje Malwadi police station. The officer said the suspects have been booked under section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.
In another incident, three unidentified men on a motorcycle robbed a 25-year-old man of Rs 12,000 in Lohegaon late on Saturday night. A complaint in this regard has been lodged by Rohan Vadpillay of Dhanori with the Airport police station. The police said the incident took place around 10.30 pm.
