I felt its a crime to ask Deepti cut her hair

For a long time, director Lal Jose found it impossible to find a girl who is ready to sport a cropped haircut to play Neena, the title character of his latest film.
Most of the girls he met weren't keen to part with their long locks to play the character, except former Miss Kerala Deepti Sati. The filmmaker said in a recent newspaper interview that he, however, felt that it would be a crime to ask Deepti to chop off her amazing hair.He added that the pageant winner said she is ready to go for it, if he could confirm her as the film's lead.
