While 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge' continues its record-making run in Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre, some final year students from the London Film School are making a documentary on the film in an effort to understand the cultural footprints, the iconic film left behind.
Mirror has learnt that Nathasha Rajthore, along with a crew of over 20, has already started shooting in the Swiss Alps, made famous by the Chopras.
The film will be divided into three segments London, Switzerland and India. The team will be revisiting all the locations seen in the film to give a perspective on its legacy. Speaking from Switzerland, Nathasha insisted that the idea is to not make a fan-film but analyse what is it about DDLJ that makes people fall in love with Raj and Simran, 20 years later. “Just two days ago, we visited the hotel where SRK, Kajol and Aditya Chopra stayed and interviewed the staff there who still have plenty of teary-eyed memories from the late 90s," she said. “We're interviewing the mayor of the town where it was shot and have discovered that a train is named after Yash Chopra. It is a nostalgic trip."

The makers need about 33,000 pounds to complete the three schedules and have started an online campaign to raise funds which has generated an enthusiastic response from fans. "We have people of over eight nationalities in our crew who have all seen the film," she informed, adding that the London Film School will start a scholarship programme for Indian students from the revenue generated from the film.
