Teenager raped in Kanpur, accused arrested

A local hoodlum allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Sachendi on Sunday. The accused, identified as Kallu, lived near the victim’s house and had been arrested.

KANPUR: A local hoodlum allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Sachendi on Sunday. The accused, identified as Kallu, lived near the victim’s house and had been arrested.
Sachendi police booked him under various sections of the IPC besides POCSO Act and sent him to jail.
In his complaint with the police, victim’s father said that he was working in a nearby field along with his wife and other children on Sunday morning.
Finding his daughter alone, the accused barged into the house and raped her. After committing the crime, the accused also threatened the girl against disclosing the incident to anyone.
The complainant added that when he returned home in the afternoon he found his daughter in a disheveled state. On repeated queries, his daughter narrated the entire incident to him after which they decided to lodge a police complaint.
Sachendi station house officer Jaiveer Yadav said that a case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Sections 4 and 12 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered against the accused. He said that the accused was arrested and sent to jail. Victim’s medical examination was also conducted and report was awaited.
