Farmers seek more returns

The farmers demanded that the government fix more compensation
Vijayawada: The landowners who approached courts against land acquisition process of the state government for Pattiseema project are now demanding more compensation to hand over their lands. The landowners of Pallerlamudi village led by Krishna district Rytu wing president Ch. Anjaneyulu discussed the issue with the district collector.
On this occasion, the farmers demanded that the government fix more compensation. They said that the government should take into consideration the increasing land prices following the development of capital construction after the state bifurcation. They said that they are not ready to give lands for any purpose.
If once the farmers hand over lands to government by taking compensation they would not be able to buy land in any other location, said Mr Anjaneyulu. He said that land prices have gone up in all the areas.
But, collector A. Babu said that already the land acquisition process is on in various locations. If government announces more compensation to the particular farmers, it would impact on other farming community also, he added.
The farmers asked the collector to provide compensation equal to Sithapuram village location which is on the other side of Ramileru channel. Rytu Sangham leaders Alla Gopala Krishna and Vatluri Ramesh were also present.
