Valsad youth stabbed to death in South Africa

SURAT : A 30-year-old man from Valsad was stabbed to death by an unidentified person in Lenz city of South Africa on Thursday. The youth was attacked in a loot attempt outside the store where he was employed.
Sameer Pathan was a resident of Bechar Road in Valsad. He was standing outside the store when the miscreant attempted to snatch his mobile phone. Pathan did not give in to the robber who stabbed him several times, killing him on the spot.
A passerby spotted Pathan and informed police. He was shifted to a hospital where he was declared dead. "The family is in deep shock as we have lost a young member. We cannot believe that he is no more. He died from severe injuries before he could get medical treatment," a family member said.
Pathan, son of Rahim Mohammad, a retired railway employee, had gone to South Africa eight months ago in search of better employment opportunities. His family earlier planned to bring the body to Valsad. However, the plan was cancelled for some reasons. Pathan's funeral has been carried out in South Africa by his relatives.
