Oregon landed an impact recruit on Friday night as the Ducks pulled in 2014-15 NJCAA DI Player of the Year Chris Boucher. The commitment of Boucher was first reported by Brad Winton of Jucorecruiting.com.

Playing at Northwest College in Wyoming last season, Boucher averaged 22.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game. The 6-foot-10 Boucher also shot 58 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range. Boucher ranked in the top-ten in the junior college ranks in points (eighth), rebounds (fifth) and blocked shots (third) last season. Besides winning NJCAA Player of the Year honors, Boucher was a first-team All-American and helped Northwest College to a 31-5 record and an appearance in the NJCAA DI Tournament.

The addition of Boucher means Oregon has reloaded in a major way heading into next season and they should be a legitimate competitor in the Pac-12 race. Besides Boucher, five-star shooting guard Tyler Dorsey, four-star point guard Kendall Small, four-star forward Trevor Manual and Villanova graduate transfer Dylan Ennis have joined the Ducks in this incoming recruiting class.

With Oregon returning some talented front-court pieces in Elgin Cook, Jordan Bell, Dwayne Benjamin and Dillon Brooks, Boucher is a great complimentary piece to that group and he should add some shot blocking and an ability to stretch the floor as a big man.
