RIYADH, May 16 (KUNA) -- Preparations are made to hold the Riyadh Conference on Yemen Sunday with the participation of all Yemeni political groups and tribes as well as some representatives of regional and international organizations, said the consultative committee tasked with the preparations for the conference.
The conference aims to reach binding agreements and decisions for all parties present in the congress based on the Gulf initiative and relevant UN Security Council Resolutions, the head of the committee Abdelaziz Jabari said in a press conference on Saturday.
All participating political powers have underlined the significance of maintaining Yemen's security and stability and rejecting the constitutional declaration announced by the Houthis, he added.
More than 90 percent of representatives of Yemeni people support the restoration of legitimacy and the implementation of outcomes of national dialogue, he noted.
He lauded participation of some leaders of Yemen's major parties like General People's Congress, Southern Movement, Islah Party (Yemeni Congregation for Reform) and other political powers.
The conference will take some resolutions pertaining to the form of the state rule, the formation of a federal state including six provinces and the constitution, he revealed.
The congress lasts for three days, with the first day (Sunday) involving inaugural speeches, the second involves open discussions and final statement will be issued in the last day (Tuesday), he concluded. (end) ad.hm
