QUETTA:

Opposition leader of Balochistan Assembly Maulana Abdul Wasey escaped a bid on his life in the Pishin district.

The parliamentary leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) in provincial assembly narrowly escaped a bomb blast that only scathed his vehicle in Khanozai area of Pishin district.

“Maulana Wasey was on his way to Quetta after attending a public gathering, when unidentified assailants tried to target him with a remote controlled improvised explosive device in Rad Mulazai area,” Abdul Nafay, an official of the Balochistan Levies told The Express Tribune.

Balochistan CM Dr Malik Baloch condemned the attack and asked the local administration to submit a report.

Meanwhile, Maulana Wasey while talking to the Daily Express said the government has totally failed to control law and order. No one in the province is safe, he said. “The government has found a new mantra, ‘intelligence agency of neighbouring country, RAW, is involved in the terrorist attacks,’ but it does not absolve the government of the duty to provide security to the people,” he said.
