Chennai: A 44-year-old priest of a temple in Ponneri, Tiruvallur, was arrested by the idol wing sleuths from East Coast Road on Friday.The police identified the arrested priest as Ramanathan of Mallikeswara temple in Ponneri.
He and his associate were arrested while trying to sell two idols of the temple. The priest reportedly gave the Vinayaka idol to the readymade cloth shop owner in T. Nagar who was arrested Monday.
