Traffic diversion for Ooty flower show from May 15

The Nilgiris District police have announced certain changes in the traffic pattern in view of the flower show festival to be held for three days from May 15 to 17.

Upcoming vehicular traffic from Mettuppalayam will be routed via Burliyar and Coonoor and vehicles from Udhagamandalam bound for Mettuppalayam will be diverted via Kotagiri.

Tourist vehicles such as buses and maxi cabs will be stopped at the parking lot on Coonoor road and from there the tourists will have to take the circuit buses for visiting various places and for returning to the parking lot.

Tourist vehicles from Gudalur will be stopped at parking lots in Finger Post and Kandhal and from there the tourists should use the circuit buses.

Alankar junction to Rose Garden and Rose Garden to Chamundi Junction will be one-way.

Road from roundtana to boat house will also be one-way and vehicles from boat house will have to proceed via Darshan junction to Ratan Tata junction and traffic will not be allowed in the opposite direction. Mettuppalayam bound vehicles will not be allowed via Coonoor. Vehicles entering Tea museum will not be allowed to enter Kotagiri road and they will have to take the shola route to reach Coonoor road.

Ban on trucks

Similarly, there will be a ban on truck traffic during the three-days and parking of trucks inside the town will not be permitted.
