Chinese electronics conglomerate Foxconn is likely to sign an agreement with the Maharashtra Government soon to set up a facility to manufacture electronic equipment in the state.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who is accompanying Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to China met Terry Gou, founder of
Foxconn. He has expressed desire to invest in India. "Detailed plan on proposed investments in Maharashtra for 2015-17, too, was presented by Foxconn. Had a discussion on it. Looking forward to collaborate with Foxconn," Fadnavis tweeted.
State government sources say, detailed presentations made by Foxconn indicated that it was looking to set up facilities for manufacturing solar-powered data server storage facilities, mobiles, tablets and television sets.
