For the recent Heatons press day, Brown Sugar’s makeup maestro Dearbhla Keenan wanted to channel a sultry bronzed goddess look, championed by the design duo Dolce and Gabbana.

“It was all about the skin and a pop of colour on the lips,” Dearbhla said of the striking finish.

While the focus may have been on the retro floral swimsuits and bikinis, the beauty and simplicity of the models’ makeup was certainly a distraction.

“We worked to create a nice glow, all products we used were Kohl cosmetics which is Brown Sugar’s own brand,” Dearbhla informed Independent Style.

"If you want skin that want a dewy base, opt for a water based foundation. It's lighter coverage so you can still see the natural skin.

“I used a blusher called ‘Cocktail’ which is a really strong pink but there’s a sheen to it - so that’s why you were getting a bounce of highlight in the cheeks.”

The world has gone contour crazy as we aspire to emulate the golden glow of Hollywood celebrities, and Dearbhla used the technique to sculpt the models’ cheekbones.

“I used bronzer with a little bit of sheen to contour, the one I used was called ‘Tan Line’. The inspiration for the overall look was Dolce and Gabbana’s recent fashion show in Capri, so we wanted a beautiful, sexy finish.”

When it came to making up the eyes, Dearbhla resisted using a lot of products and kept things paired back.

“On the eyes I used a wash of warm coral over the lid. We wanted the eyebrows to look brushed up and undone, for this we used our new Kohl cosmetics ‘Brow Balm’ which is like a dupe for the popular Anastasia Hill’s brow products. I applied it through the brows with an angled brush to make them appear more full.”

To seal the deal with a kiss, a slick of electric coral lip product was used.
