The other two were injured in the incident that took place near Rasulbagh Primary School on Friday afternoon.

Doctors declared dead Ruma Akter, 32, and Sohanur Rahman Rifat, 5, when they were brought to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital around 5pm, Inspector Mozammel Haque of the police camp there told bdnews24.com.

Quoting a youth ‘Arman’, who brought them to the hospital, Inspector Haque said Rifat, his mother Zarina Begum and neighbours Ruma and ‘Nishat’ were bathing in the rain around 4pm.

The rainwater clogged up on the premises of a tin-shed house and a live electric wire tripped and fell on the roof of the house.

In no time, the electric current passed through the tin to the water, leaving the four injured.
