Ambareesh caught in another controversy!

Emergent notices issued to CM Siddaramaiah and two ministers after the state government declined to reimburse medical bill of special public prosecutor N Reddy
Ambareesh caught in another controversy!
A vacation bench of the High Court of Karnataka issued emergent notices to Chief minister Siddaramaiah, Home minister K J George and minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T B Jayachandra on Thursday. The notices were ordered against a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by an advocate who challenged the government's refusal to refund medical expenses of state public prosecutor (SPP) Narayana Reddy.
The PIL cited the case of Housing minister M H Ambareesh whose medical bills of over Rs 1 crore were paid by the government. The same terms should apply to the government advocate, otherwise it amounts to discrimination, the petition appealed.
Narayan Reddy was appointed SPP for a period of two years on October 19, 2013, to fight criminal cases of the government in High Court.
"The SPP stands for the government and it is in this name that all prosecutions are conducted. The job of an SPP is not easy.
Criminal cases in the state of Karnataka in recent days are very difficult and each case is different from the other. The SPP is always under professional pressure, stress, tension and mental agony," the PIL emphasised.
Terming the non-reimbursement discriminatory, the PIL states, "It is shocking and painful to mention that even Group D employees in the government get all types of benefits, especially medical reimbursement of surgery and treatment."
Reddy suffered lung infection and was hospitalised for 35 days from October 21, 2014. The cost of treatment was around Rs 10,00,000. When he sought reimbursement, it was rejected by the government.

The PIL states, while minister Ambareesh took ill and was treated in Singapore, the government bore expenses of not only his treatment but also travel of his family and doctors though the actor-politician was capable of bearing the expenses himself.
The government also coughed up travel expenses of one CV Nagaraj (who is not a doctor) who accompanied Ambareesh.
Rules were relaxed for Ambareesh to enable payment of all expenses by the government. The government paid up medical bills to the tune of Rs 1,24,49,591 for Ambareesh. Why is the government dilly-dallying now, questioned the PIL.
