The7th All India Hockey Tournament is scheduled to be conducted in Kovilpatti from May 21 to May 31 at Lakshmi Ammal Polytechnic College grounds.
This tournament will be hosted by K.R. Educational Institutions in Kovilpatti. This tournament has been registered with the hockey unit of Tamil Nadu and Hockey India as a ‘B’ grade tournament.
Both the organisations had given their nod for the tournament.
Out of 64 teams, 16 had been selected to participate in this tournament by the Hockey expert committee.
The national and international level officials would be roped in for conducting the matches, according to a statement here on Wednesday. The teams are BSF- Jallandhar, Signals- Jallendhar, Canara Bank- Bangalore, RCF- Mumbai, Union Bank- Mumbai, Indian Navy- Mumbai, East Coast Railway- Orissa, MEG- Bangalore, PCTC- Bengaluru, ICF- Chennai, Income Tax-Chennai, CISF- New Delhi, MPHA- Bhopal, Hubli Hockey Academy- Hubli, LAMHOT –Kovilpatti and Tamil Nadu police.
