Police Constable among five injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, May 14: A Selection Grade Constable of J&K Armed Police was among five other who were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the Constable identified as Garu Ram (Belt No- 363/JKAP 14) son of Gyan Chand, a resident of Laswara (Bishnah), was hit by an unknown vehicle near Petrol Pump at Simbal Morh, when he was going on his scooter, this afternoon. In the mishap, Garu Ram received serious head injuries.
On getting information, a police team from police station Miran Sahib reached the spot and shifted the injured police Constable to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where his condition was stated to be critical whenll the last reports came in.
A lady identified as Bhavna Jolly (33) daughter of Madan Gopal, a resident of Reshamghar, was injured when an unknown vehicle hit her at Parade road flyover.
A person was also injured in collision of bikes at Gole Gujral area of Pounichak. The injured has been identified as Tajinder Singh (35) son of Pritam Singh, a resident of Gole Gujral.
At Khour area of Akhnoor tehsil, a biker was injured when his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding bus. The injured biker has been identified as Arun Sharma, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Mathwar.
In a collision of a bike and a Wagon-R car near Station Morh at Channi, a 40-year-old man namely Amarjeet Singh son of Assaya Singh, a resident of Sainik Colony, received serious injuries.
All the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
