Gulbarga University convocation today

S.R. Aparna, who scored the highest marks in M.Sc Mathematics, will be presented with eight gold medals during the 33rd annual convocation of Gulbarga University here on Friday.

The medals will be presented by Governor Vajubhai Vala who is also the Chancellor of the university.

Vice Chancellor G.R. Naik and Registrar Chandrakant Yatnoor, who released the list of the gold medal winners and the cash awardees who emerged toppers in their respective departments, told presspersons here on Thursday that the former Supreme court Judge and Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission Shivaraj Patil will deliver the convocation address.

Physician Muralidhar S. Rao, artist A.S. Patil and educationist Abdul Quadeer will be conferred honorary doctorate degrees.

The Governor would also give away Ph.D degrees to 190 candidate and M.Phil degrees to 55 students.

As many as 26,895 postgraduate and undergraduate students are eligible to get the degrees in the convocation.
