Customized songs as gifts are a hit among people

Who won’t love to hear a song that is specially customized and gifted to someone by their special one? For Kolhapuris, the trend of gifting a special song that has the name of the person you are gifting it to (in the lyrics) is fast catching up. Be it a birthday, anniversary, wedding or even a festive celebration, these customised songs have taken the city by storm.
Abhijeet Jain, owner of a website that customises songs, said, “Unlike mashups or remixes, what we do is entirely different. The song we create for people is completely customised with their names and messages in it. We work on the lyrics, background score and flow of the song and mail the song to the customers within 24 hours.”
Many people opt for special songs during festive celebrations, especially during the Ganpati celebrations. Every mandal wants their own song and some like the Vetal Talim Mandal, Khandoba Talim, Patakadil Talim, Juna Budhwar, Dayavan, Hindvi, Dilbahar, Balgopal Talim etc have started a trend of playing customized mandal songs every year during the immersion procession.
While many might think that the popularity of the songs is restricted to those who order for them, these songs are getting instant hits in the colleges and are shared on social networking sites as well. DJ Heefaj, who customizes these ‘mandal songs’, informed, “The demand for customised songs is increasing day by day. Even smaller groups demand for such songs.”
Depending on the number of minutes for which the song will be played, the charges of customisation vary. “A three minute song costs around `5000 whereas a five minute scripted song costs around `12000-15000,” said Praveen Aiwale, another person who customizes songs.
