The Vellore Brahmins Association has requested the Tamil Nadu government to introduce teaching of fine arts subjects such as music, singing and dance in all schools.

A resolution to this effect was passed at the executive committee meeting of the association held under the presidentship of K.S. Balasubramaniam, president of the association here on Monday. The association decided to organise the 33rd `Samashti Upanayanam’ at S.P. Mahal in RTO Office Road in Sathuvachari here on June 7.

Upanayanam will be performed for six boys during the occasion.

The association also decided to honour the Plus Two toppers on that day.
