The District Tourism Development Officer (DTDO) has served notices to various hoteliers in Kasauli area.

The hoteliers, here, have secured power and water connection without taking no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department.

Yashpal Sharma, DTDO, said two hotels had been identified which included Raghav and Whispering Winds and they had been served notices.

He said officials of the Power and Irrigation and Public Health Department had been asked to disconnect power and water connections as they do not have the mandatory NOC from the TCP Department.

He said two cases had come to the fore during field inspections.

“We have information about more such cases in Kasauli area and inspections will be undertaken soon to check violations,” he added.

The builders here have constructed hotels without taking an NOC. In one case, an area approved for a parking lot has been converted into a restaurant, while in another a seven storey building has been raised without an approval of the TCP Department.

The Power Department has also provided connections to such buildings. Though, the officials of the TCP Department have served notices to 25 such cases in Kasauli area, but it has failed to stop such illegal services.
