Congress publicises Rahul Gandhi visit

Meanwhile Mr Gandhi’s upcoming yatra has started showing its affects

ADILABAD: With the Land Acquisition Amendment Bill and the recent farmer’s suicide at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi becoming serious issues, the All India Congress Committee is focusing on giving as much publicity as possible to AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s Kisan Sandesh Yatra.

Members of the AICC media and publicity wing are constantly updating social networking sites about Mr Gandhi’s upcoming yatra to Nirmal and his interaction with the bereaved families of the five farmers who had committed suicide due to mounted debts and crop loss.

National and international media organisations have also been invited to Nirmal to highlight the plights of the farmers and Mr Gandhi’s concern for them.

A senior Congress leader said, “All India Congress Committee has decided to use social networking sites extensively to highlight the farmers’ plights and Mr Gandhi’s yatra after realising the importance of social networking and how the BJP used it to its advantage in the last general elections.”

Meanwhile Mr Gandhi’s upcoming yatra has started showing its affects. Nirmal Revenue officials sanctioned Rs 1 lakh financial assistance without any legal formalities to the family of farmer Bonla Linganna of Laxmanchanda, who had committed suicide on November 28, 2014.
