MUMBAI: Katrina Kaif’s spokesperson has clarified that there’s no truth to news about the actor’s wedding plans. The clarification comes in the wake of reports that Katrina’s rumoured beau Ranbir Kapoor had revealed they will tie the knot next year. The rumour mill is also abuzz with news that the duo may get engaged later in May.

Discrediting such news, Kat’s spokesperson said, “There is no truth to these wedding dates, there are no plans as yet.” The wedding rumours became rife after a publication quoted Ranbir announcing, “This year, both of us are extremely busy, so there won’t be any time for the marriage. We have planned to tie the knot by the end of next year. Both of us have agreed on that.”

The two, who have featured together in films, such Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani and Raajneeti, have mostly maintained silence over their relationship. Their next film together is Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos.  Following that, Katrina, who also has Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor in the pipeline, will go on with other film and brand commitments.

Katrina has currently gone to the French Riviera to make her debut appearance at the 68th Cannes International Film Festival as a brand ambassador of L’Oreal Paris. Ranbir is awaiting the release of his anticipated film Bombay Velvet, which will hit the screens on Friday.

Ranbir and Kat, who got close to each other during the filming of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, are reportedly living together. Their relationship began after Katrina’s reported break-up with then boyfriend, superstar Salman Khan. Ranbir was previously dating Deepika Padukone.
