FAISALABAD:

The murder of a female under-training nurse has not been solved so far despite the passage of six months.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Muhammad Akram, a resident of Chak 290-JB, said that his 18-year-old daughter Aalia Firdous was completing her diploma from a nursing school in Gojra.

“She left her house on November 23, 2014 for school. However, she did not reach her school. In the evening, we started looking for her. At around 8:00pm, we found Aalia lying near the railway line at Toba-Gojra Road. She was in a critical condition. We took her to Gojra General Hospital. She was referred to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad. She remained under intensive care for two days and then passed away,” he said.

“The doctors told me that Aalia had been raped. I told Gojra City police about it, but they have not done anything so far to trace the killers,” Akram said.

Akram appealed to the chief minister and the inspector general (IG) of police to take notice of the incident and direct Gojra City police to speed up the investigation.

The Gojra City SHO said that police were investigating the crime. “It is a very complicated case. We have not been able to trace a single suspect so far,” he said.
