Long-serving Derby duo Shaun Barker and Jamie Ward have been released by boss Steve McClaren.

Defender Barker, 32, made 105 appearances in six years for the Rams and managed a comeback this season after sustaining a career-threatening knee injury in March 2012.

Striker Ward, 29, joined County from Sheffield United in 2011 and played 149 games, scoring 34 goals.

Lee Naylor, Mark O'Brien, Tom Naylor and Zak Whitbread have also been told they will not have their contracts extended beyond this summer.

Midfielder John Eustace has yet to be offered a new deal but the club say they are continuing to review his situation.
