Mahila Kalasala students to perform at TANA meet

May 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:08 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Students of Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala will be participating in an annual conference of Telugu Association of North America (TANA) to be held from July 2 to 4 in Detroit.

College Principal T. Vijayalakshmi, who will lead the 12-member team, said the degree students would be performing a folk dance during the conference.

Organisers sent an invitation to the college a few weeks ago requesting it to perform at the conference.

“We immediately accepted it as it is a rare opportunity for our students to perform abroad,” she said.

She said the organisers would bear the transport and accommodation expenses and added that students would carry musical equipment with them.
